The fourth installment of Freeway National Artist Collectors’ Series is inspired by Ramon Valera, National Artist for Fashion. Last October 12, 2010, Freeway pays tribute to Ramon Oswald Valera. They held an intimate gathering that celebrates the works and life of Ramon Valera at The Row, Glorietta 5. It was hosted by witty Tessa Prieto-Valdez, the event gathered some of fashion’s most important persons and known admirers of Valera.

The special guest, advocate of the Arts, Madame Imelda Romualdrez-Marcos and resource speakers Valera’s niece Peching Zulueta-Gomez (Valera’s niece), fashion designer Aureo Alonzo and National Museum of the Philippine’s curator Nick Legazpi, Jr shared interesting stories and glimpse into the life of the man behind the National Artist. Press, media and bloggers also came and joined Freeway in their special event.

Freeway showcased their collection inspired from Valera’s signature creative cut, silhouette, beadwork, embroidery and hand-drawn sketches in a 60’s themed fashion show. Each collection piece was beautifully sashayed by models wearing dramatic head pieces and vivid make-up wonderfully done by Piandre.

Aside from the fashion show, Freeway held an exclusive one-night viewing of original Ramon Valera gowns on display held at the Ground Floor of Glorietta 5.

Everyone was treated to delectable treats and lots of Valera giveaways. It was truly an unforgettable night of timeless fashion and celebration of great Filipino talent.
