Hong Kong Government issues Travel Ban to the Philippines after the hostage crisis. The Security Bureau of Hong Kong advised its citizens to avoid all travel to the Philippines because of the severe threats on the country’s security.
Indeed, our tourism is greatly affected. There are cancellations of flights, accommodations and tours. Tourists are afraid that what happened to HK nationals and some Chinese citizens might also happen to them.
The main issue here is the security. I’m praying for this crisis to end as soon as possible, our reputation as a nation is at stake.
Still, Philippines is a safe place to visit. What happened in Quirino Grand Stand was an isolated case.
