My early morning barkada, Unang Hirit featured the Intel ISEF 2010 Grand Award Winners this morning. They are (L-R) Marc Mapalo, Reni De Guzman, Maria Clara Isabel Sia and Marc Arthur Limpiado, from Philippine Science High School- Eastern Visayas Campus. Marc Mapalo, Reni De Guzman, and Maria Clara Isabel Sia won in the Team Awards category in the area of Environmental Science, they came up with the study of creating a natural treatment for red tide using indigenous materials.
On the other hand, MarcArthur Jordan Irlandez Limpiado, also representing the Philippine Science High School- Eastern Visayas Campus won for the Microbiology category for his individual research on the antimicrobial properties of Philippine seaweeds.
Each of the students has $500 take home, most of them will go to different Universities to enter College. One will pursue BS Biology in UP Los Banos, then the other one would like to take Computer Engineering in Ateneo, I forgot the exact course, but the other guy wants to enter UP Diliman.
